Real Cream Soda found in Antigua Guatemala

Guatemala got it,

Oh for those days heading to the store with a quarter in your pocket, Pop was a Nickel, Popsicles had taste and Chewing Gum lasted more then a minute. Those were the day and they are here in Antigua Guatemala well the prices are a little higher in Guatemala then 30 years ago, not by much.

Yes you kind find real Cream Soda and Orange Crush in a Bottle at a few places in Antigua Guatemala. Rica and Roja Cream Soda’s are my favorites. Milca Soda Roja; A “red soda” from Nicaragua that tastes like a bubble gum cream. I sit down at the little store close to our home in Antigua and wow, that first taste, the sugar rush, the flavor real Cream Soda. For about $1.27 US. Can you believe that price?

Now for those Cream Soda lovers you will not find the Real Thing everyplace in Antigua, mostly at the Market, you still have to hunt for it.

A few Restaurants in Antigua offer Cream Soda not at the well known ones on Trip Advisor or Lonely Planet listed Restaurants. No, you will have to look along the group of Restaurants along the 7th avenue in Antigua.

My other idea around Cream Soda is, I like to mix mine with Ron Zakapa Rum or Flor de Caña Rum. We offer it to our quests at our villa, http://whereisantiguaguatemala.com/.

Flor de Caña Rums prides itself on product consistency that only a single estate rum can guarantee. Produced with the finest molasses from sugar cane harvested in fields adjacent to the distillery in Chichigalpa, Nicaragua.

Ron Zacapa Centenario is a popular premium rum produced in Guatemala. Zacapa was created in 1976 to celebrate the centenary of the foundation of Zacapa, a town in eastern Guatemala.
